Region Partners

Work Groups

Resources in this section are intended to assist with programs to help prevent the initiation of tobacco use among youth and young adults.

  • The Prevention Work Group works to identify potential partners/target outreach locations, and methods to engage the youth in an effort to recruit new TRU chapters to advocate for stronger tobacco control policies in Pennsylvania and promote youth empowerment.
  • The Cessation Work Group is focusing on the promotion of the PA Free Quitline as well as Freedom From Smoking® modalities.
  • The Policy Work Group leads the coalition in statewide and local tobacco control advocacy efforts and works to identify new Multi-Unit Housing, Worksite and YLAP partners to provide technical assistance in an effort to improve smoke free policies.

  • The American Lung Association is hiring an Associate of Health Promotions. Assignments include assisting with the  implementation and evaluation of lung health programs supported by the Tobacco Control Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Division of Tobacco Prevention and Control throughout Northeast, Northcentral, and Southcentral Pennsylvania. This position is 100% supported by the Tobacco Control Grant from the PA Department of Health, Division of Tobacco Prevention and Control throughout NE, NC, and SC of PA.
